September

Third Class have been learning about the natural features of Ireland. We used the chromebooks to search for images of these natural features and inspired by the work of the Irish artist Paul Henry the children depicted their own version of these natural features. They focused on colour and tone and the skill of blending.

October

The children enjoyed working together to complete and compete in some shape based puzzles and challenges for Maths Week. They also played some number based card and board games.

The class learnt about the work of the American artist and director Tim Burton. They explored his dark and gloomy style of animation and their art focused on the features of his art. Look how they captured the essence of his work with the large eyes, narrow necks, gloomy colouring and pointed chins.

November

In November, Third Class carried out lots of activities based on the theme of water and the Vikings. You can see the beautiful art they created focusing on the tone of the colour and silhouettes of water animals. We carried out some science experiments based on water too. We were also lucky enough to have a visit from an archaeologist named Frankie who has studied the Vikings for many years. See photos of the class exploring the amazing artefacts that she showed us and stay tuned for our Viking books.
